A temperature prediction scheme for the Bridgman crystal furnace TITUS is proposed. The temperature prediction is done by a reduced order dynamic representation with a state space description of the plant. Using the finite element method, the conduction and radiation effects in the crystal furnace are modeled. It is shown by a numeric simulation that the proposed prediction techniques can considerably improve the temperature constance and dynamic gradient on the crystal surface.
