Photosensing cadmium sulphide crystals of wurtzite type have been grown by flux method in a platinum crusible. Platelets, needles and prisms at the bottom and regular shaped greenokite like crystals were seen in the middle portion of the charge in crusible. This variation of geometrical shape (habits) of these crystals may be related with the growth parameters like - charge composition ,cooling rate sheduled during run , and peak temperature of furnace. The probable role of these parameters is explained along with the surface microstructures on these various shaped crystals.
