Crystal Structure Analysis of trans 1-(n-phenyl sulfonyl indole-2’yl)-2-(3’ 4’-dimethoxy 6’-nitrophenyl) ethene

The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P21/c The cell parameters are a = 8.3558 (2) , b=11.3659(2), c=23.9039(3) Å , V= 2265.6(7) Å3 , α = γ = 90.0° and β =93.64(1)°. The structure has an indole moiety, phenylsulfonyl and dimethoxy nitrophenyl groups. The phenylsulfonyl group is attached to the indole nitrogen and the dimethoxy nitrophenyl group is attached to the olefinic carbon. The crystal packing is stabilised by van der Waals interactions

Keywords: crystal structure
