Continuous solid solutions in the SrNdAlO4–CaNdAlO4 system are formed. Powder samples of SrxCa1-xNdAlO4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) were obtained using the carbonate coprecipitation method while single crystals of SrxCa1-xNdAlO4 (x = 0.0, 0.162, 0.392, 0.687, 1.0) were grown by the Czochralski method. Structural parameters and thermodynamic properties of the samples were studied by X-ray diffraction and heat flux Calvet calorimetry. Composition dependence of lattice constants was observed to follow Vegard’s low. Heat of solution of the SrxCa1-xNdAlO4 samples in molten 2PbO.B2O3 were measured, and enthalpies of formation and mixing were calculated.
